Claim Settlement Ratio

The percentage of claims an insurer pays out.

What is Claim Settlement Ratio?

The Claim Settlement Ratio (CSR) is the percentage of claims an insurer settles out of all claims received in a year. A higher CSR suggests a stronger track record of paying valid claims.

It's one of the most important numbers to check before choosing an insurer — not just the premium.

Example

A 99% CSR means the insurer paid 99 out of every 100 claims it received.
