Waiting Period
The time before certain conditions become claimable.
What is Waiting Period?
A waiting period is the time you must wait after buying a policy before certain claims are payable. Common ones include an initial 30-day period, and a 2–3 year wait for pre-existing diseases and specific ailments.
Choosing a plan with shorter waiting periods matters most if you have an existing condition.
Example
A diabetic buying cover may need to wait 2–3 years before diabetes-related claims are paid.
