What is Pre-existing Disease?
A pre-existing disease (PED) is any illness, injury or condition you have before buying a policy — such as diabetes, hypertension or asthma. Insurers cover PEDs only after a waiting period.
Always disclose PEDs honestly; hiding them is the most common reason claims are rejected.
Example
Declared hypertension is covered after the policy's PED waiting period ends.
