General Insurance Term
Grace Period
Extra time to pay a missed premium without losing cover.
What is Grace Period?
A grace period is the extra time (commonly 15–30 days) after your premium due date during which you can still pay without the policy lapsing. Cover generally continues during this window.
Miss the grace period and the policy can lapse — restarting it may need fresh underwriting or waiting periods.
Example
Pay within the 30-day grace period and your cover continues uninterrupted.
